Thc Podenco-Specialty has come to stay a tradition for Podenco-lovers both inside and outside the country to meet for the whole wee-kend, with or without dogs. Judge of the year was Agneta Kappers from Sweden, and let me tell you, she really had done her homework! Agneta treated the dogs exactly so nice and kind and all the dogs just loved her! All togetber 33 dogs were entered, about half by half smooth and rough. As usual some were absent, but, the judge told us, this was the first time she had see so many Podencos in the ring.
Our President Eli-Marie opened the Show wishing everyone a warm welcome
and "begged" everyone cross their fingers for nice weather - and we got it! The sun was shining nearly the rest of the day!
First in the ring were the puppies, 4 males and 1 female - all of them for the first time in the ring. Again, the judge was won-derful and gave them com-fort and soft hands, and they all 5 enjoyed the ring.
BOB Puppy: Rosenhill's Austin Sharifa, owner Eli-M. Klepp
BOS Puppy: Rosenhill's Austin Windrush, owner R. Skare
Then to the more serious classes. 4 smooth males from Junior, Open and Championclasses and the winner is:

Odorato Safrano, owner

Best bitch 5: Bee Djei's

Time for the first final. Mystéere and Safrano again in the ring, and the judge gives the BOB smooth to the
most beautyful female with lots of elegance and carisma:
BOB Ch. Rosenhill's Odorata Mystéere
BOS Ch. Rosenhill's Odorata Safrano
So far the weather Gods had been listening to our prayers, but now we could feel some raindrops. In Norway we say: never bad weather; only bad clothes, so we just put our rain-dresses on and continued the Show with the rough-males from Cham-pionclass. The winners are:
Best male 1: Ch. Future Belleza Querido, owner Morten Forseth
Best male 2: Ch. Melqart's Valenciano, owner C. Brauer / H. Harestad
There were 10 rough bitches. The judge used her time well and made all the classes move around the ring lots of time and again she examinated everyonc very carefully. Results:
Best bitch 1: Rosenhill's Kordes Lolita, owner Annika Ahlm, Sweden Best bitch 2: Noisettiana Chromatella, owner Eli-
Marie Klepp
Best bitch 3: Tea-rose Madame Butterfly, Anette Bøhn
Best bitch 4: Floribunda
Sarabande, Linda Harestad
Also in the rough-coats we had a final, the fantastic vete-ran Lolita againat Querido! Lolita's owner Annica just cried out when the judge handled her litt red/yellow
BOB ribbon, while Querido tried to invite Lollo to a dance in the bushes!
This year we had a "new" unofficial class for dogs who normally cannot be shown in one or otber reason, also
they enjoyed their day out in fite ring. The winner in this class was Ch. Rosenhill's Hybride Day-Break, the best bitch First Dynasty's Adrenaline. Both got a very nice trophy and fine critics from the judge.
As said before, this day is not only serious, we also have a lot of fun classes. Best head, tail and movements, Juniorhandling, Pairclass, etc.
Of course we enjoyed it all, but everyone was waiting for the Grande Finale! This year two bitches wer fighting for BEST IN SHOW, the smooth Mysteere and rough Lolita. Again judge Agneta took her time, we saw wonderful movements around and around until the BIG BEST IN SHOW rosette 2001 was given to Mysteere and Tone-Lise. Both of course, very, very happy!
In the evening everyone took part of the great barbecue. Do we have to tell you we had a lovely time together? Our gusets from abroad enjoyed themselves, no language problem at all the night went on! Another perfect Special was at the end!
Come and enjoy us next year.
